Prospective Students

University of Illinois – Urbana-Champaign is a world-class, R1, research institution and one of the top 35 Universities in the world and top 25 Universities in the US. In addition to extensive course offerings, the Dept. of Geology runs several local field trips throughout the year and a yearly international field trip to locations such as Scotland, Cyprus, Ireland, and Curaçao. Recent graduates from the Geology Graduate Program have gone on to careers in the petroleum and environmental industries as well as tenure-track positions at universities such as Caltech, U of Oregon, and U of Miami.
